Keep camp dates, costs, schools attending, and post-camp follow-ups in one place.
The information that actually matters at every event
- Date, location, and event format (camp, ID camp, tournament, showcase).
- Confirmed coach staff list — and which of your target coaches will attend.
- Your court / pool / session schedule with times and jersey number.
- Pre-event email log: who you've notified you'll be there.
- Post-event notes: who you talked to, what they said, what's next.
- Any clips worth saving for your highlight reel.
Choosing camps and showcases that earn back the cost
Events fall into roughly three buckets:
- Programs' own ID camps — best for showing yourself to a specific staff you're targeting.
- Multi-program showcases / qualifiers — best for breadth when target coaches show up.
- Generic mass camps with no posted coach list — usually weakest ROI for recruiting.
A useful filter: would three or more coaches from your starred Top Schools actually be there? If not, the event is mostly training, not recruiting.
The 1–2 week heads-up email
Send a short, specific note 1–2 weeks out:
- Confirm you'll be at the event.
- Give your jersey number, court/session schedule, and any times you stand out.
- Make one small, easy ask: a few minutes after pool play, or a quick handshake.
- Reattach (or relink) your 60–90 second highlight reel.
What to send in the 48 hours after
- Thank-you note: name a specific moment from the conversation or watch.
- What you took away (something they said about your game).
- Any clip from the event worth sharing (short — under 20 seconds).
- A specific next step: a video review, a future event, a campus visit window.
How to keep events from getting lost
Pin events you're attending in the Showcases tracker (Pro), attach notes per event, and link follow-ups to each coach in the Pipeline. Reminders close the loop so the post-event email never lives only inside your head.
